Surf Fishing Tips for beginners

Fishing is one of the great traditional domains of masculinity. It’s an escape, a chance to relax and unwind; and it puts us in touch with the natural world in a way that connects us to countless generations of our hunter gatherer ancestors in a way that few past-times can. It is a refuge from the stresses of the modern world, and can transport us back to some of the carefree joys of our childhood.

Unfortunately, today, many men have no idea how to fish, nor how to go about learning. This video is the first in a series dedicated to getting you out of the lounge, and into nature.

Rigs I used: 4m surf rod – 12 kilo main line, no leader. Number 4 mustad suicide hooks on short 10cm droppers; Number 6 bean type sinker. Rig: modified paternoster 3m river rod – 10 kilo main line, no leader. Number 4 and a number 3 mustad suicide hooks, set up paternoster with number 6 ball sinker.
